I completed a task, why is it not in completed tasks - where did it go?

ContactsLaw ships with over 60 activities. Lengthy task lists are not uncommon in medium-to-large practices and many activities are of a trivial or temporary nature. For this reason, the default options for each activity result in completed tasks being automatically cleared from the system.
 
For any activities (or indeed individual tasks) where completion is considered to be noteworthy, you can turn on the option to retain the tasks in the 'completed tasks' view of the portal/file task lists. When you enable this option, the member who started the activity will receive a popup notification when the task is completed, prompting them to review its outcome.
 
Completed tasks occupy system resources and should be removed as soon as they are no longer required. Members are encouraged to periodically clear their list of completed tasks.
